Oil Painting Etudes

Throughout my studies at the Art College in Dnipro (Ukraine), I dedicated a considerable amount of time to oil etudes painting. Plein-air painting is a crucial activity in the life of every artist. Many of the presented etudes were created outdoors, while observing the world, shadows, and changes in nature's state. These are elusive moments that I sought to capture and depict on my canvas. Some of the sketches, mostly portraits, were made indoors, but they also depict living nature. Each such an etude was created within a short period of time; the purpose of such exercises is to quickly capture the state of nature and living beings, reflecting your first impression of what you see.
Working in different weather conditions, I felt the mood and state of nature even more strongly, depicting it in my works.

One of my etudes became a big painting. I had the honor of being featured in an exhibition of Ukrainian art. The process of creating this particular work was fueled by my admiration for the works of the French impressionists. Inspired by their techniques and artistic vision, I sought to infuse my own interpretation into the piece. The experience of seeing my work showcased alongside that of other Ukrainian artists was incredibly rewarding and motivating. It reinforced my dedication to my craft and encouraged me to continue exploring new styles and approaches in my artistic endeavors.
